Principles of Zettelkasten:

  1. Each note should have a unique reference that you can use to link it to others
  2. Zettelkasten needs to adhere the Principle of Atomicity. Each permanent note should contain one unit of knowledge and one only.
  3. It's personal by all means. One zettelkasten per person and visa versa.
